Black Neon Tetra
Few things are as eye-catching as a large school of shimmering tetras. If you already have a school of Neon or Rummy Nose Tetras, consider adding Black Neons....

Most are engineered to be oriented in a certain aspect. You want to mount the pump in this orientation... Perhaps not on the same plane/level as the sump/tank it is servicing... in the event of a flood.

2) You want to make a solid junction between the lines going to/from the pump and the plumbing they attach to... but it is very likely you will want to provide an "intermediate" junction... best of stronger/thicker PVC, nominally Schedule 80 (that heavy gray stuff). For FIP (female) fittings the material of choice are Sch 80 risers or nipples... that have male to male threads that can be threaded into the pump volute (the part covering the impellers with the fi

About Painting Overflows

I was hoping that you might know about paints. Im really not too pleased

with the color of the overflow covers that came with my tank. They are

speckled black and blue. I would rather them be a solid black. The covers

Be patient.

Best to set your system up with just freshwater, attach the various mechanicals (filter, aeration, circulation, heating, lighting gear) and test all for a day or so to make sure you have everything, and that it works Assured, go ahead and add the su

How the parents act towards their fry depends entirely on each fish personality. Some have numerous spawn and never bother their fry; others easily eat their young. To be on the safe side, you can separate the fry from their parents. However I do not recommend this until the parents have had a few unsuccessful spawnings. The fry will reach 1.5 to 2 inches after 12 weeks at which time they can be sold

Keeping the tank clean helps to keep down the level of toxins in the water and helps the fish resist disease. Another important aspect to keeping any fish is to make sure you do not overload the tank a general rule of thumb is 1 inch of fish per gallon. So if you have a 20 gallon tank, it can safely house 20 inches of fish. The less fish the better, of course. Refrain from mixing your Siamese fighting fish with any other fish that like to nip at fins, and remember only 1 male per tank!

Breeding Clownfish

Breeding Clownfish
By William Berg

Thanks to Disney's Motion Picture 'Finding Nemo', almost everybody is familiar with clownfish.
Clownfish, or Anemonefishes, from the family Pomacentridae, are one of the easiest tropical marine aquarium fish to breed. Clownfish regul.

SE vs DE
I did a search but my searching skills suck I guess. I'm trying to figure out if DE is worth the cost over SE for a dual setup over a 75 or a 90 gallon tank, haven't decided yet, but I obviously want the most light for the least money :) DE bulbs are more expensive (seems to be), and the pendants are definitly more costly than a simple reflector and I already .
