Tanks:

There are two general varieties, plastic (acrylic) and glass (with silicon rubber seams. Some important considerations: They are heavy when set-up and filled; about ten pounds per gallon! Therefore it is important that aquariums be placed on something substantially strong. Another factor is that this "stand" be flat and planar. For these reasons Aquarium manufacturers will generally warrant their products only if they are placed on certified Aquariu

It is no more realistic, however, to expect a fish to just grow to its tanks size than it is to expect a colt to never grow into a horse because it lives in a small barn. Good planning is logical and necessary but not insurmountable for realizing your dream aquarium. For the safety of your person and property, be sure to have a professional evaluate and confirm the integrity of the aquarium and the solid foundation of the stand, as well as the floor upon which it sits. Most large aquariums over a few hundred pounds will need to be set on solid ground (concrete flooring). When this is not possible, strategy will be required with an orientation perpendicular to the run

I strongly encourage the use of at least a power filter in conjunction with undergravel and a protein skimmer for the simplest of marine systems.

A note regarding their "biological" filter function; take care to not change all the media in power filters at once. Rotating the floss, etc., back to front in the units water flow will allow for bacterial transference.

Where to place my Zoa's??
I was wondering how much light most Zoa's need. I am thinking of putting the new frags lower in the tank, right on the sand bed or just a little above. I have a 26" deep tank and I am using 250W MH and pc Actinics for lighting. I have some zoos that are doing fine in the mid section of the tank and a large c.

Aiptasia on my live rock
I was told by a neighbor that one of my live rocks had Aiptasia. I didnt know it was a bad thing. I actually thought it looked kinda cool. Do I need to get rid of it? If so how? Should I just get rid of that piece?.
