Mini-Aquariums
College classes are beginning, but that doesn't mean you have to give up on pets just because you live in a dorm or small apartment. Mini-aquariums can be....

Freshwater plants greatly benefit from fertilizer supplements that are safe for use with fish. Aquarium supplements should be used in almost all saltwater aquaria to replenish nutrients that are used up by fish, macro algae, and sessile & motile marine invertebrates.

What Im hinting at is simply transplanting the beneficial microbes from an established system to the new one. In actual practice, some of a stabilized, pollutant and parasite free sources gravel, rock, filter media is carefully placed in a sterile new-one of close temperature, specific gravity and pH. Voila! Take care to avoid thermal drift (see 3) G) re).

What could you say about microbiological population dynamics? They are as vigorous and dynamic as the larger life on the reef. Even chemical self-feeders (chemo-autotrophs if youre going on Jeopardy) like the bacteria we want have to look out for competitors, predators, lack of oxygen,

Daphnia For The Aquarium

Daphnia are a great food source for both young and adult aquarium fish, you could catch them with a net in a pond, but their's a risk of bringing in parasites. I just found an article about growing daphnia yourself, nice read for the real tinkers out there :-)

Just another question
Ok I was noticing that a lot of the higher end tanks on this site have timed lighting including dawn and dusk and I think that is so cool and I am sure that it is great for the tank. I on the other hand don't have that luxury and turn on my tank whenever I get up turn it off when I go to bed. I there a problem with the inconsistency or is it just not as.
